For Paris Fashion go-ers, there's designer partying, stiletto trotting, celeb spotting, and an overall excitement level that can't be good for anyone's heart rate. For everyone else, there's Tommy Ton's style.com 'Couture Diaries'. And thanks to him, we're all able to live International Fashion Weeks through the glamorized, street style candids that he's become known for. We may be layered in 3 sweatshirts, parked on a couch because it's too cold to attempt a coffee run. But we're that much closer to knowing exactly what Paris looked like last week as the industry invaded Carrousel du Louvre. The renowned photo blogger did his thang, snapping from roads to runways, documenting any 'off-catwalk' development surrounding the Shows in Fashion's Capital. And although we always tend to "right click" one of Tommy's famed shoe shots to then "set as desktop background", we're liking that his lens was specifically drawn to anything furry this time around. (So. Much. Fur.) And coincidentally, my desktop could use a little silver fox in this minus twenty weather. Thanks Tommy. For more of "The Couture Diaries" click here. photocreds:style.com

rag&bone

Abbey Lee, Sasha, Lily, Edita, and a whole lot of selfy's are what make up Rag & Bone's Spring Summer 2011 Advertising Campaign. The British born label encouraged an original, 'do-it-yourself' advertising approach as they supplied four of the industry's top-model roster, with their own camera and a few pieces from their Spring collection.
After sparking enough of my interest I then went on to learn about Rag & Bone's "DIY Project".  A contest in which the brand hopes to encourage their customers to do participate in through acting upon the same creative activity. The contest requires readers to submit their own self portraits wearing their favorite pieces for their chance at Rag & Bone sweepstake goodness. You Britts and your marketing campaigns. So creative. We like! Click here to learn more about RAG & Bone's DIY Contest photocreds: fashiongonerogue

Wang2011

It's time for me to finally confess, to my (not-so-mild) obsession with Sir Alexander Wang. I told myself I would try to contain the fascination within the four walls of MADBLOG, and didn't think it would be so hard to fight. Until.. his Spring/Summer Collection hit blogs galore in these past few weeks. The seasons magic word? PURE. Working with a pale palette of neutrals, whites, and everything but black, he contradicts the grunge/dark mood that the brand has been known for in Wang's short but effective industry history. The designer quotes "I wanted to move away from that hard, tough, aggressive, urban mood I've become known for. So there's no black, not even a hint of black." He then goes on to describe the collection as "Light, optimistic, pale colors, dropping hems down to the floor, my first real prints, It's even romantic."
Call me crazy, but there is literally nothing this man has designed that I haven't found myself dying over. Ok, so some of the apparel isn't for everyone, nor very practical. But his shoes, boots, bags, and dresses? Not real life. For an up and coming designer, at his age I find myself more amazed with his success each season. On top of all of that, he then seizes to amaze me by pulling off the coolest tricks in the trade with his unique campaigns, spreads, shows, and collaborations. Photos above take us backstage at NYFW for Wang's Spring/Summer 2011' debut. The colors, the lack of runway, the music, the agyness, the abbey lee, and the rest of his model roster. Stunning. Alexander, how did you get to be so cool? Seriously? For full runway show click here. photocreds: Alexander Wang Facebook Page.

SisleyS/S

Just goes to show what a little bit of Terry Richardson can do for a campaign. Did you ever think you'd  look twice at a SISLEY ad? The Italian bred brand has sure played with they're advertising plan for Spring 2011, and we are already witnessing good things. Could be because of a serious Terry Richardson crush, or the silhouette of Holland's blondest bombshell Marloes Horst. We like Sisley's impression of an untried, youthful look. What do you think?

Finally got around to uploading and posting all of the pictures from our trip to New York. More sneaks into ENK's Accessorie Circuit, along with detailed shots of MAD's Fall goodies and beautiful custom booth. Not a Facebook fan yet? "Like" Melanie Auld Designs Facebook page to be updated on the latest news, media, and peaks into our upcoming collections.

SpottingMadison

Spotted: Leven Rambin running errands in West Hollywood along side MAD's Madison vintage inspired flap bag. The 20-year-old actress plays Rosie on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place that is set to premiere late next week. Nothing like spotting a little bit of MAD in the Hills. see Just Jared for more. photocreds: JustJared

AccessorieCircuit

Of course we attended ENK to represent Melanie Auld Designs, rep the booth, push the orders. But can you blame us for wanting to lap the show a few times? Catch a glimpse of some Pre Fall goodies before they hit the shelves of our favorite retailers come spring? Photos above peak at our Monday afternoon on Pier 94. It's day two of the show, and we thought it would be neat to give our readers a look into a day at ENK's Accessorie Cicruit, and Intermezzo Collections. (Facebook album to follow - so many pictures, so little posting space)
The show kept up a constant hype throughout the 3 days with hundreds of buyers, exhibitors, designers, and loads of fast paced New Yorker's sporting buzzing blackberries from 9 am onwards. And aside from everything that already had us wanting to call Manhattan home, the atmosphere in NY's fashion scene has proved just another reason. This city knows how to own an Industry. The style, the opportunity, the action, the inspiration. There's no place quite like it. Until next time concrete playground..!
